Conversations in English Classes (Chinchilla) are held every Wednesday from 1.30 – 3pm at the Chinchilla Library.
“Conversations in English celebrates culture!”
Have you noticed that Chinchilla transformed into a “culture hive”? Our little town has become so lively with countless shows and events; and many of them are about the colourful diversity of our cultures.
Conversations in English (CinE) is proud to have been playing an active role in the local cultural and multicultural programs such as Harmony Day, the One Long Table, and Melon Festival, Culture Train last September, Fun Palaces in October, and Australia Day this January. We maintain a regular column in the Chinchilla News, and we have been honoured by local, regional and state-level awards. We grew this far as we connected to and learn from locals. We connected to and learnt from you!
Therefore, CinE is set to celebrate Culture. CinE is going to celebrate ourselves as part of the local community, and the local community itself. We are thrilled to celebrate YOU.
We would love to have you at our huge public multicultural celebration in the Chinchilla Library on Wednesday 30 May, from 1.30pm. we will dress up in traditional dress, play exotic music and cook big for you; all you need to do is come along, bring your friends and loved ones, and enjoy the free treat!
While munching your meal from overseas countries, you will be welcome to learn about our worlds. Just drop a look at the slideshow and the multicultural calendars, or talk to us.
Kindly note that the national TV channel ABC from Sydney will be there to film the event.
For catering purposes, please RSVP.

Conversations in English (CinE) is an award-winning, free friendship group for those who have English as a second language. Is English your second (or third, or fourth) language? Or are you a natural speaker wanting to help those new to our language? If so, please come along to our Conversations in English Classes. They are designed to help participants practice their English in a friendly and supportive environment with the help of community volunteers.
This project is a joint initiative by Chinchilla Library and the Chinchilla Family Support Centre. To join the conversation and meet new and interesting friends contact 1300 COUNCIL, email email@example.com or contact Chinchilla Family Support Centre on 4662 8528.
