What is Geocaching?

Have you ever heard of Geocaching? Geocaching is a real world scavenger hunt for all ages, and all you need is a smartphone. Hidden all around the world are small treasure boxes in your everyday life,  Geocaches can be anywhere – In your local park, on a beach, under a park bench or even up a tree.

Simply download the Geocaching.com App to your phone and you can view all the geocaches in your surrounding area which have been marked online using GPS co-ordinates. Geocaching is great fun for the whole family, and its free. It’s a great way to explore new areas, get outside, solve puzzles, and learn interesting facts and local history.

The Dalby and Chinchilla library will be running geocaching programs for kids these September school holidays, for more information contact your local library.
