Yoga Storytime will be re-starting on Tuesday 5 February, from 10am. All ages are welcome.
Calm hearts and calm minds lead to calm kids and calm families.
Yoga Storytime is a relaxed and fun session which incorporates breathing, stretching, singing, dancing and mindfulness. This is an interactive session between parent (or caregiver) and children, held at Chinchilla Library every Tuesday from 10am during term-time.
Yoga Instructor, Lisa, will make you feel welcome! Lisa is a yoga teacher with a gentle nature and a calming soul, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her.
With funding through the State Government’s First Five Forever initiative, we’ve been able to put a concerted effort into research and development of this early literacy program. Our Yoga Storytime sessions are carefully planned and delivered by specially trained staff to encourage your child’s development and early literacy skills. Combining strategies and exercises from leading and well proven early development practices, we’ve created a relaxed opportunity for parents and care-givers to embrace and become confident in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher.
Ninety percent of brain development happens in the first five years of a child’s life, and language and development before age three is the single most important factor in school success. Sharing books, singing nursery rhymes and talking to your child from birth is the best way to support your baby’s communication and pre-literacy development.
It’s never too early to read, talk, play, sing!
PLEASE NOTE: We love taking snaps of your happy little ones during these sessions. Sometimes these are used in Library advertising or publications, but we will always ask your permission first. Parents or carers who would prefer photographs not be released, please let us know and Library staff will ensure those photographs are deleted and not used.
