This is Going to Hurt – Adam Kay

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: Funny, interesting, real – a candid take on the crumbling state of the public health system in the UK and the pressure put on doctors.
Quote: I’m all for explaining terminology as we go along, but if you don’t know what a stethoscope is, this is probably a book to regift.

 

Fairy Tale
Fairy Tale – Stephen King

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: I really loved and enjoyed this novel. It is different form other SK reads. It feels dreamlike and fantastical as opposed to other SK novels which are more of the horror genre. 17 year old Charlie Reade our protagonist who is struggling with life and has a magical connection to another world…a bit like Alice down the rabbit hole…
Quotes: Good people shine brighter in dark times.
I think all worlds are magic. We just get used to it.
Life gets to be a burden…if you life long enough, you’ll find that out for yourself.
A brave man helps.

 

One More Time
One More Time – Mandy Magro

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: A heartfelt story about how PTSD and alcoholism lead to heartache, and a broken marriage. Emotional trauma is experiences by both individual’s but true love finds a way to reconcile.
Quote: He conquers who conquers himself.
