What is Words for Wellbeing?

Our Words for Wellbeing collection is a selection of books, DVDs, audiobooks and digital resources available to support our mental and physical health and wellbeing.

The resources have been recommended by health care professionals and organisations directly involved in health care and cover topics that impact our day to day lives, including stress, relationship issues, diabetes, pain management, depression, anxiety, cancer, trauma, fitness, ADHD and many more.

Who is it for?

Anyone that is interested in accessing self-help and self-improvement resources, or seeking information to support friends or family members struggling with health and/or mental health challenges.

Where can I access it?

The Words for Wellbeing collection can be found at all nine Western Downs Libraries branches or via our online catalogue. All members are able to borrow from this collection of resources, and membership is free. Sign up for membership quickly and easily online here.

  • Suicide Call Back Service – 1300 659 467 Service for people who are suicidal or have been affected by suicide (24/7).
  • MensLine Australia –1300 789 978 Counselling service specifically for men (24/7).
  • Kids Helpline – 1800 55 1800 Counselling service specifically for young people aged between 5 and 25 (24/7).
  • DVConnect – 1800 811 811 Helpline for domestic, family and sexual violence (24/7).
