“What’s with the frog puppets, First Five Forever?”

Good Question!  If you have attended a local Storytime or Toddler time session near you, chances are your child may have been given a frog hand puppet to take home.  This cute little green fella is the recognisable symbol of a statewide program providing strong early literacy foundations for all Queensland children aged 0-5 years called First 5 forever

In their first years of life your child’s brain forms over one million new connections every second. Research shows the first five years last a lifetime and that simple, everyday activities with you help to make these connections strong. Talk, read, sing and play together every day to build a strong foundation for your child’s future development.

So why a frog for First 5 Forever…….Well a frog walks into the library and asks the Librarian to recommend some books The Librarian showed the books to the frog, but the frog just shook its head and said, “Read it, read it, read it!”
