Tune In Mental Health Month 2021

Mental Health Month

Mental Health Month encourages us to think about our mental wellbeing, regardless of whether we have have a lived experience of mental illness or not. It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental wellbeing in our everyday lives and encourages help seeking behaviors when needed.

The theme for Mental Health Month 2021 is Tune In

Tuning in means being present.

It means being aware of what is happening within you, and in the world around you. Being present by tuning in has been shown to help build self-awareness, help make effective choices, reduce the impact of worry and build positive connections.

Tune In with Western downs Libraries in 3 easy steps:
Firstly, Tune In to Words for Wellbeing. Build resilience with this collection of books, DVDs, audiobooks and digital resources to support your mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Secondly, Tune In  to Story Box Library‘s special Mental Health Month collection for kids. Featuring stories of diverse characters and narratives to support children and families mental health and wellbeing and provide tools for overcoming challenges.

Thirdly, Tune In to learning. Keeping our minds engaged with new ideas and experiences is important for mental wellbeing. Learn something new in one of our adult workshops this month.
