Regular Storytime Sessions:

Click here to register for our one our regular storytime sessions.

Toddler Storytime

Every Tuesday, 10am. Most suitable for 1-3 year olds.

We know that toddlers are not built to sit still. Our Toddler Storytime sessions are full of action songs, short stories, and fun games.

Babytime

Every second Friday, 10am (+ Baby Tribe on alternate Fridays, held at the Chinchilla Community Centre). Most suitable for under 12 months.

Babytime is a casual session that aims to build connections between parent and baby, and other families. It features songs and rhymes, stories and developmentally appropriate toys and games, with plenty of time for baby and carer to socialise.

Storytime with Tom

First Saturday of the month, 10am. Most suitable for 2-4 year olds.

Similar to Toddler Storytime, for those who are busy during the week. A perfect opportunity for Dad to bring the kids along!

Special Storytime Sessions:

In addition to our regular Storytime programs, we also like to mix things up sometimes.

Yoga Storytime

Most suitable for those walking, up to school age.

Lisa is a yoga instructor who loves to share yoga poses, breathing techniques and calming exercises along with the stories she reads.

Storytime at the Parkland

Suitable for all ages.

Sometimes our little ones need an outlet for all their energy (seriously, where do they get all that energy?!). We love to bring Storytime to the Botanic Parkland and encourage you to get active with your children in the great outdoors.

Storytime visits

Sessions can be customised to suit babies through to middle primary school. Please speak to staff for more information.

We love to do outreach with schools, kindies and daycare centres. We’re even planning a storytime at Gymnastics! Please encourage your child’s educator to get in touch and organize a visit – they can come to us, or we can go to them.

Other Storytime Resources:

If Storytime at the Library just doesn’t work for your family, try one of these options from the comfort of your home.

Storytime at Home kits

Suitable for all ages. Please see individual kits for more information.

Containing a book, song, craft or game and ideas to help your child engage with the story, these handy little kits are available to borrow fromĀ  your local library.

Story Box Library

Suitable for all ages.

Fantastic stories shared by actors, music stars, television personalities and authors themselves. Log in with your Library card to browse the huge range of books. Many titles also have engaging story response activities to share with your child afterwards.

Remember, YOU are the most important person in your child’s life. Take any opportunity you can to read, talk, play and sing with you child – it’s never too early, or too late, to start!
